Nutrition information, saved meals, and restaurant locations established the app’s everyday utility.
iOS + Android · Mobile commerce · 2013–2015
Helping an established restaurant brand move from mobile utility into payment, ordering, and loyalty.
My Wendy’s began as a practical companion for nutrition information, saved meals, and restaurant locations. It evolved into a mobile-commerce surface that supported stored value and a short payment code at the register, then became a proving ground for ordering and loyalty.
Wendy’s Rewards was a separate iOS application in my original portfolio. Public reporting confirms a loyalty pilot during this period, but the historical store listing has not survived, so this page keeps the two product names distinct without inventing details about the retired app.
The payment experience moved from a three-market pilot in 2013 to most of Wendy’s roughly 5,800 U.S. restaurants in 2014. By early 2015, Wendy’s was testing ordering in Columbus and expanding a loyalty pilot across nine markets.
That progression made the apps part of the restaurant journey: deciding what to eat, finding a location, paying at the counter, and testing the foundations for repeat-customer rewards.
The Wendy’s Rewards work shown here refers to the historical VML-era application and loyalty pilot. Wendy’s current national points program launched later and is not presented as part of my contribution.
